Last week was the big event!  I did my first ever supercross race on TV at MEC in Las Vegas.  The week before the race I had several sponsors that helped me get myself and my bike ready for the race.  I am very thankful for all the support I get throughout the year!!!!   I was able to get a private ride day at the Yamaha track to help get prepared which was awesome.  The guys from Bills Pipes came out and worked on my bike.  The Grindstone Compound gave me lots of tips in tricks that I would need for the race in Vegas

When we got to Vegas we had a day to relax, do virtual reality games, get a henna tattoo and have a little fun.

My Dad had my bike looking awesome and when we got to the track all my sponsors gave me all my gear and I was looking pretty good!

In the morning I had a track walk.  We walk the track and figure out what the strategy will be for practice and the race.

We had two qualifying sessions that we were practicing while trying to qualify for a gate position for the race.

My bike and I were under the 51 Fifty Energy Drink tent and after practice we signed autographs for people.

I filmed a video for Wienerschnitzel.

I got advice and help from several people helping me throughout the day.

When it got dark the lights come on in the stadium and the place was packed with people cheering very loud.  We waited for the camera because the race was aired live and then it was time to race.

In my first race I didn’t get the best start but was able to stay on two wheels and finish in 10th place.  In the second race I got a better start and finished in 7th place for a 7th place overall.

The whole event was so much fun!  I learned a lot and can’t wait until next year!

Since I got back from Mammoth I have been training hard for Nationals at Loretta Lynn’s.  During my training I fell on my bicycle and broke my collarbone.

10 days before my first race at Nationals I went into surgery to plate my shoulder.

After my surgery my parents cancelled our trip to Tennesse but I kept telling them I was going to be able to race.  I worked really hard and did everything that Doctor Ting said so I would have a chance to still race.

Dr. Ting had me do Chryo therapy, arm therapy, lazar treatment, etc.

Two days before sign ins Dr. Ting told me that the plate was good and that if I ride I will be in pain but won’t hurt my arm.  I really wanted to try to race and knew I would be able to fight through the pain.  My parents were not as convinced as me but they decided to try to get another room in Tennessee and that they would drive me out.  We hit the road and drove 34 hours straight to Tennessee and got to the track just in time to sign in.

I was very excited to be at Nationals!  I got my #71 Bib and my bike and my gear was looking amazing!

After getting signed in my Dad did some finishing touches on the bike and I tried to do some fishing in the river…. I didn’t catch anything.  Then I went to the pool to get cooled off and to do a little more therapy on my shoulder.  It was fun to hang out with friends and get ready for racing the next day.

When I was in my first race I tried to focus on my laps.  I started off OK but I did start to fade back as the race went on.  I was able to finish my first two races in the top 10 which wasn’t bad for only being 10 days out of surgery.

In my third race I started with a great start out front.  I was in 2nd place and putting down great lap times.  I jumped when I landed in a cross rutt I wasn’t able to hold on and when the handlebar ripped out of my hand I went down.  With my handlebars bent and mud in the throttle cable I wasn’t able to finish the race.

That night I rested my shoulder and the next day I to race but my shoulder was hurting too bad to continue.  My parents and I decided that it was time to call it.  I wasn’t able to compete up front and I didn’t want to do any harm to my body so I decided not to race in my last motos.  It was a really hard decision but I was happy I was even able to race at all.

I have the most amazing sponsors!!!  Everyone is always so supportive of me and my racing.

YAMAHA  –  FLY  –  LUCAS OIL

SOBMX  –  2X PROMOTIONS  –  JMS  –  GRINDSTONE COMPOUND

WES KAIN MAFIA – MOM AND DAD – BILLS PIPES – LEATT

51 FIFTY ENERGY DRINK – WIENERSCHNITZEL – SCOTT GOOGLES – DUNLOP TIRES

CANDACE – JOHNNY – DR. TING

So many other sponsors that were not at the track but they help me throughout the year.  I wish I was able to compete up front like I should have been but happy I was able to make it in the top 10 twice considering.  After the races my family drove straight back home so I can start high school on Monday.

Every year Yamaha has a dinner for all the riders and families.  We get to take a team photo and every year Yamaha picks one person that wins a prize.  This year they called my number and I won a Yamaha pressure washer.  It was so cool, I have never won a raffle.  My Dad was SO excited!!!!  He can’t wait to use it.

Can’t wait till next year!!!!

Last week was the pro motocross race at Hangtown.  My family and I were excited to get to the track, see everyone and watch some amazing races.

First I saw my friend Kelly at the Wienerschnitzel pit.

img_3210

After practice was over I went over to Yamaha to hang out with the guys on the Yamaha team.  I was able to visit with a lot of my friends walking by.  The team had me help them dial in Coopers bike…. your welcome!

Then it was time to get a seat for the main event.  Lucas Oil gave my family some really awesome tickets.  It was really cool of them….BUTT….. does their pit area have to be at the top of the tallest hill?  Good thing I brought my own 51 Fifty Energy Drink, or I might not have made it to the top.

The Lucas Oil spot was an awesome spot to watch the races.

This weekend I went to a really cool 51 Fifty Energy Drink event.  First I met with the guys from the supercross team.  (Hayden Mellross, Tyler Bowers and Noah McConahy)  We met at A.V. Thomas Produce.

We took a picture with everyone that was working at the plant and we were all wearing blue.  A.V. Thomas and 51 Fifty Energy do a lot to help families with Autism and April is Autism Awareness Month.   Look at how many people they had in the picture.

I took a long time to get everyone in place for the picture.  The team and I stood in the front with a dirt bike and the Autism sign.

After we took some pictures, Carlos gave the team a tour of the plant and we learned a lot about how the sweet potatoes get to the stores.  I had no idea it was so huge.

And the have so many different kids of sweet potatoes.

First we saw how the machine cleans the potatoes and they get dried and hand sorted into different packages.

Then we went to another building where they were doing dry packaging.  If the potatoes are washed and packaged they don’t last as long as the ones that are packaged without being washed…..I never knew that.

In another building they had a machine that wold package individual portions that are shrink wrapped.

We also saw the storage facility that has cases and cases of potatoes that have not yet been processed.  These come straight from the farm to storage until they are processed and ready to ship to stores.

We learned that the potatoes that are scratched or broken get sold to farmers and they use them for pet food.  All of the potatoes in the fields are used someplace.

We toured the offices and met all the people behind the scenes that help get the sweet potatoes to the stores.

After the tour we went to the 51 Fifty clothing store and Fitness Center in downtown Livingston.

They have a full gym and every day from 3-6pm the place is FREE for all kids in support of the Gloves Not Drugs program.  Kids come and practice boxing so they are not getting into trouble around town.  The place was so cool.

The apparel store was having a raffle and autograph signing so we all got ready to sign autographs.

It was really fun to say HI to everyone, sign autographs and take pictures.  Everyone was very nice.

And of course I had fun hanging out with the 51 Fifty Energy Drink Girls.

I am a very luck kid and I have so many people who support me and my racing!  I am very thankful and appreciative of all the support that allows me to continue racing each week.  A few of my sponsors have been getting me ready for my upcoming races……..

I met with 51 Fifty Energy Drink and we signed our new contract.  51 Fifty is one of my very first sponsors and have always been there for me.  Their energy drinks are amazing!  The people who work for the company are like family!  …and they give so much to local charities including kids with Autism.  I look forward to my  continued relationship with 51 Fifty Energy Drink!!!!

This week we got a box in the mail from Yamaha.  My family and I got our team shirts in the mail.  They are very cool!  I have been riding 85 Yamaha’s since the beginning and to have factory support on the bike that I love is very lucky.  I have done some amazing things with Yamaha on and off the track already and I look forward to more moving forward.

Fly has such amazing gear!  Fly has the best gear, helmets and gloves.  I love the colors and designs and they are so easy to work with.  The summer gear that has all the air holes for when it gets hot is amazing.  I got a special delivery with some new gear lines and colors that you are all going to love….wait till you see me at the track.

As you know….my favorite food is hot dogs.  I was very excited when Wienerschnitzel decided to sponsor and support me.  Everyone on and off the track has been asking when we are going to go get hot dogs.   I look forward to many more hot dogs in my future!

This week I got a box in the mail from Nihilo.  I am part of the Nihilo Tribe and I got all the coolest accessories for my new bikes.  Nihilo has everything you need to bling out your bike, you have to check them out.  I can’t wait to see my bike next week on the line.

Mika Metals has come out with new bars.  They are fatter than the normal bars I usually have on my bike and are made to hold up better in big crashes.  I have had a lot of people notice them and ask me about them.  If you don’t have the new fat bars, you have to check them out!

I have to give a shot out to 2X Promotions.  The race this last weekend through the rain and everyone was finished before the big storm hit the track.  We raced the Road to Mammoth race at DT1 and the weather was coming in fast.  2X Promotions was able to run the race with a ton of riders and they got it finished faster than normal.  The DT1 track held up great with the weather.  I was able to leave the weekend with three 1st place finishes.

I know that my sponsors have many options and I want to thank each of them for choosing to offer me support.

This last weekend I decided to do some practice on my wrist, body and bikes!

I RODE ON 4 DIFFERENT TRACKS IN 2 DAYS

that is how……..

I LIVE THE MADNESS!

Saturday morning we got up early and drove to Marysville to ride at E-Street MX.  I planned on meeting a lot of my friends their and we raced together with the other riders all day.  I rode for five hours and then it was time for lunch.

20121029-113708.jpg20121029-113725.jpg

My parents and I went to get something to eat and then we went to the night practice at Riverfront MX.  My friends couldn’t go with us, but I had sooo much fun because I got to ride with the big bikes.  The big bikes kept getting on behind me and we would battle and have little mini races, I even got to bump bars with some of them.  It was fun riding under the lights and racing with big riders.  By the end of the night I was very tired and ready for bed.

20121029-113829.jpg

I woke up Sunday morning and it was time to do some more riding.  We went to MMX and I rode half the day on the sand track and half the day on the main track.  I rode my bike from one end of the property to the other.

20121029-113823.jpg

I liked riding several different tracks at the same time and having to change my riding style from track to track.

20121029-113751.jpg20121029-113757.jpg

I am glad I took 51 FIFTY ENERGY DRINKS and so were the other riders…..

20121029-113802.jpg20121029-113817.jpg

After a weekend full of riding, I got about 7 new blisters and only one scratch on my arm…..I think it was an amazing weekend.

20121029-113718.jpg

At the end of the week I went back to Sacramento to be with my team and watch everyone race. It was really hard to watch my class race and not be on the track.

20121003-065615.jpg

When our teams pro riders were ready to go out to race i got to wear the headset and communicate with the team.

20121003-065635.jpg20121003-065646.jpg

After they raced the guys and I hung out…and they even let me drive…..I don’t know what they were thinking.  lol  we all had so much fun!

20121003-065702.jpg20121003-065718.jpg20121003-065729.jpg

After the races were over they had a fashion show. I walked in the fashion show and handed out energy drinks. The announcer interviewed me…. He asked me if I drove the 51 Fifty Semi-truck to the track and I told him I did. Lol. I walked down the runway and I handed out a couple of energy drinks at the end. Of course I rocked it! (I had a video I was going to share with you but everyone was screaming so load for me, you can’t hear it very well.   🙂 )

20121003-065812.jpg20121003-065826.jpg20121003-065844.jpg

I was really sad that I couldn’t ride on the track, it looked really good!  The team made everything soooo much fun we did a lot of really fun team things.

20121003-065915.jpg20121003-065926.jpg

My Dad bought me a Cyco Cycle….It was really fun and I even learned a couple of tricks on it.  It was really cool because I could ride it without any hands.  My Mom was not happy, she thinks it is sketchy.

20121003-070309.jpg20121003-070317.jpg20121003-070324.jpg

The guys on the team all did really good.  I had a ton of fun watching them and cheering for them during the races.  Good job guys!

NEW GRAPHICS

This weekend was the pro outdoor race in Sacramento……Hangtown National.  I raced the amateur day on the National track the day before the pros raced.  Before the race Moto Efx hooked me up with my new graphics and they looked so sick.

DAY ONE

I was racing the 65cc ages 6-11.  I was really excited to race and while we were getting ready to get on the track, we were watching the pro riders come in and check out the track.  It was really cool to race and have the pro’s watch us.  We saw riders like Stewart and Alessi and while I was on the line to race, Mike Alessi came down and he gave all of us a high-five, wished us luck and gave us all advice about the race.

In the first 65 race I started towards the front and as I was completing the first lap I was working on making a pass for the lead…..when I fell down.  I rushed to get back up and was pushed all the way back to seventh place.  I had to ride really hard to try to race back to the front.  I thought I was going to be able to get back into second place, but I ran out of laps and I finished the first race in 3rd place.

In the second race the track was really rough and it was so fun.  I was able to get the hole shot and I was in the lead.  On the third lap I came out of a turn to hit a double and my back tire was hopping over the bumps so hard that I couldn’t get any traction leading up to the jump and I didn’t have enough speed and crashed really hard.  I got up fast and was able to get back to second place……I finished the day in 2nd place overall.  I really wanted to finish in first, but falling twice and finishing in second was not too bad……I really have to work on not falling!

DAY TWO

We got up early and headed back to the track for day two and to watch the Pros race.  The place was packed and all the riders were there….we even saw Ryan Villapoto who was there to watch the races.

The 51 Fifty Energy Drink team was there and they looked amazing.  The hauler was all set up, all five bikes and helmets were wrapped with Moto Efx Graphics, and all the boys had new 51 Fifty Energy Drink riding gear.  Since I raced at the track the day before, I had my bike and trophy at the hauler on display and it looked cool next to the other guys bikes.

I had fun all day watching some really fun races and hanging out with all the team riders.  The guys were all so cool, we talked a lot about riding and they even gave me some tips that I will definitely be using when I ride.  Thank you…..Ryan Rangel, Brandon Rangel, Preston Mull, Preston Tilford, and Chris Plouffe

See my cool new jersey!

I want to really thank Carlos and Joe from 51 Fifty Energy Drink and Larry and Dave from Moto Efx Graphics for everything they have done for me.  It was so much fun to hang out with everyone, and thanks for making me feel like I was part of the team.
