Last weekend my family and I drove to LA to race the Gold Cup Series in Los Angeles at Perris MX. I had not been to Perris in several months and I was very excited to get on the track and have a chance to race a lot of kids.
On our way out of town on Friday afternoon I stopped by Boss Cycle Sports to have them look at one of my rear shocks. They were so awesome, they dropped everything they were doing to work on my shock while I waited so everything would be perfect for the race. It was so cool of them to take the time to help me…. Thank you very much Boss Cycle Sports 209-526-2453

Saturday was practice and I used the day to get familiar with the track and find the fastest way around the track so I would be ready for the race on Sunday. Practice went good, I had a couple small falls but the day was very fun. I want to thank 51 Fifty Energy Drink for all the support they give me throughout the year. After practice on Saturday I got a new Americore SMX Dirt Scooter as an early birthday present. It is so sick!!!!! It is blue with blue grips and it looks totally awesome. Since I got it on Saturday I haven’t been off of it much, they are so fun. If you don’t have one yet you have to contact SMX Dirt Scooters and get one, so fun. You can call them at 209-632-5679 and follow them on Facebook: Americore SMX Dirt Scooter. Thank you Ryan and Tony….. you guys rock!

I also got my new 85 seat cover from Knobby Shop this weekend. Dennis at the Knobby Shop has some awesome seat covers and he makes them in different colors. If you don’t already have one of these custom covers you have to contact him at 831-818-5910 for more information.

Saturday night I went to dinner with some of my friends and then it was back to the hotel to relax and watch Supercross on TV.

Sunday was race day and there was a lot of bikes there, I was excited to start the day. I was racing three classes (which means six races), 65 age, 65 open and 85 age. Throughout the day racing was really good. My starts in the first couple of races were a little off, but as they day went on they kept getting better.

Throughout the day there was a lot of good racing and I had some good battles. In my second 85 race I fell over in the second turn and by the time I got my bike up and got it running again I was really far behind. I was on a mission to get past as many bikes as I could…. I was able to chase down 11 riders and get past them for a 4th place finish. It was so much fun to catch and pass that many bikes. I also had a fall in my 65 race but was still able to finish the race in 2nd place. I finished out the day with an overall 1st place in 65 age, 2nd place in 65 open and 4th place in 85 age. I had a lot of fun for the weekend and then it was back on the road to home.
